Marvel Cinematic University
Cecelia is a recurring guest on Marvel Cinematic University, a podcast dedicated to the scholarly and fan discussion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her appearances bring her expertise in cultural studies, Latinx representation, and popular media to a broad public audience—demonstrating how academic frameworks can illuminate the texts and cultural phenomena that shape everyday life.
Her participation in the podcast reflects a consistent commitment to making scholarly inquiry accessible and engaging outside the academy. She treats popular media not as a lesser object of study but as a primary site where identity, politics, and cultural meaning are actively contested and produced.
Holding History
Holding History is a student-driven public humanities program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison focused on the history of media and book arts. As a Project Assistant, Cecelia manages the program's social media presence, produces higher education learning podcasts, organizes public campus-wide events, writes and edits pieces for the program blog, manages and updates the program website, and coordinates with partners and volunteers.
This work reflects Cecelia's investment in the public mission of the university and the possibilities of humanistic inquiry as a form of civic engagement. Holding History's work brings together archival research, material culture, and community outreach in ways that model the kind of collaborative, public-facing scholarship she aims to sustain throughout her career.
